10.
"Seasons (Waiting On You)"
by Future Islands
Singles

"When a song is good, there is just no denying it. This was everyone's favorite dance track of the year, and for good reason. Seasons (Waiting On You) is structured beautifully and is catchy as hell."

9.
"Chamber Of Reflection"
by Mac DeMarco
Salad Days

"One of Mac's most personal songs of his young career, and it's a dozy. Its slow and somber pace paired with pulsating synths and alluring lyrics make it one of 2014's best slow jams."

8.
"Abundant Living"
by Iceage
Plowing Into The Field Of Love

"Iceage is bringing back post-punk like it's nobodies business, especially with this track. The crunchy vocals of Johan Wieth, layers of chaotic drums and guitars and one of the best riffs of the year make Abundant Living a must listen tack."

7.
"Blank Space"
by Taylor Swift
1989

"Let me tell you about Blank Space. Blank Space is the best pop song of 2014, yes sir/ma'am. This is literally the definition of a good pop song. It's catchy, it's structured perfectly, it has a simple writing format, yet it excels wondrously and its chorus soars above all other pop choruses from 2014."

6.
"Jealous (I Ain't With It)"
by Chromeo
White Women

"Now on to MY favorite dance track of the year. The boys of Chromeo have a nack for making unbelivably catchy songs, and this just might be their catchiest. The 8o8s, synths and guitar are built masterfully, making this the most fun and funkiest song of the year."

5.
"Under The Pressure"
by The War On Drugs
Lost In The Dream

"Adam Granduciel's is a fan of the long songs, as am I, and very few people do them better than him. His composition and builds, both lyrically and musically, are incredible. To make an almost nine minute track interesting and not have it drag on is a challenge, but Adam does it beautifully with Under The Pressure."

4.
"Xerox"
by Julian Casablancas + The Voidz
Tyranny

"Tyranny is a noise-rock album, no doubt about it, and to throw a slow jam like this on there may seem strange on paper, but JC and The Voidz prove that wrong. Xerox is melodic, dark, eerie, mysterious, exciting, remarkable and terrifying all at the same time, and I love it."

3.
"Oh My Darling Don't Cry"
by Run The Jewels
Run The Jewels 2

"This is a tag team rap track that is done so well, I have to remind myself it's is a real song every time I listen to it. As soon as El-P's verse knocks you to the ground, Killer Mike follows up and suplex's the shit out of you. The production is monstrous and Mike and El's chemistry is palpable. Also, line of the year goes to, you can all run naked backwards through a field of dicks."

2.
"Hey Life"
by Tune-Yards
Nikki Nack

"Nobody builds a song like Merrill Garbus, Hey Life is a prime example of this. Hey Life gives us one of her best chorus's to date. Then we get one of her whacky breakdowns which she then blends into the chorus making it one of the most gorgeous moments in music this year. If you can listen to this and not want to sing and dance along, I don't think I can trust you."

1.
"Your Love Is Killing Me"
by Sharon Van Etten
Are We There

"Breathtaking vocals, superb lyrics, marvelous pacing, outstanding composition, the list goes on and on. Sharon Van Etten's six minute ballad of heartbreak and pain is 2014's most beautiful piece of music. The drowned out drums, subtle organ, guitar, and horns paired up with her thrilling voice and those haunting lyrics made this the obvious choice for best track of the year"
